Travel becomes more inclusive

In the early days, Club Med was the first ever holiday destination to offer All-inclusive holidays. Research suggests that vacationers can relax more easily if they pay more upfront. Just because they don’t have to think anymore about the money they’re spending.

Participants in the survey pointed out that:

  1. They don’t like to pay for every little thing
  2. They can relax more if they have prepaid
  3. Budgeteers prefer all-inclusive holidays
  4. They like to avoid tipping confusion
  5. Adventurous types prefer the serendipity of booking it alone
  6. First time travelers often prefer all-inclusive options due to security and predictability

In 2013, travellers will prefer more tailor made all in one holidays. Scenic Tours, the leading operator of all-inclusive and fully escorted luxury river cruising tours in Europe, are offering complimentary bicycles. In 2013, holiday makers will want all-inclusive holidays.

In particular, we are seeing strong forward bookings for the luxury and all-inclusive sectors which have both done well in recent years. We are also seeing an increase in demand for tailor-made holidays as consumers look for greater flexibility but with all the security of a package.

The length of a main holiday in 2013 is expected to increase from 0.6 days a year to 9.66 days a year, according to a TravelSupermarket poll of 5,000 travellers.

The travel giant behind brands such as Thomson and First Choice said households were increasingly opting for breaks that include food and drink in destinations such as Majorca and Turkey as a way of sticking to tight budgets.
